Unamoo The Self regulating Search Engine

Unamoo: The Self-regulating Search Engine

Although the FCC has made efforts in the past to enforce rules and regulations on major search engines like Google and Yahoo, it’s a low-faith effort. The sites still target your personal information and present ads based on your personal searches. Not to mention the ads for adult content that appear half the time all because you did a search for “sex education.” The major search engines also don’t have to worry about changing the content of their searches…after all, they’re just crawling the web for whatever’s out there. They wouldn’t all be the “most comprehensive search engine on the web” unless they offered you everything from adult content to malware and countless popups and information-tracking cookies, now would they?

If you’re like most users out there, you’re actually sick of the hype and the drama of major search engines and you’re yearning for the day when a new search engine will overthrow the likes of MSN, Google and Yahoo.

That day has arrived.

Unamoo is a self-regulating web search. It doesn’t derive its business from pop ups and thousands of adult content ads.

Yet, Unamoo is still a comprehensive search.

Unlike the major searches, this safer search engine understands that you don’t need adult content, phishing sites, unsavory image searches and malware to be a comprehensive search engine. You need useful information that is readily available to the general public, is free of charge and free of stress.

Whether you’re searching “sex education,” “the human form in art,” “boys,” “girls,” or you’re just trying to find a safe site where you can make purchases online, Unamoo will bring you together with sites you can trust. You won’t get that personalized approach with other search engines.

With other “comprehensive search engines” you could spend hundreds of dollars on filtering software just trying to make them efficient enough to actually use. Or you could spend hours sifting through garbage just to find one useful piece of information or one trustworthy site.

Or you could use Unamoo.

Unamoo crawls the web daily searching for the most updated sources of information on the web, sends those sites through a filter and blocks the useless and unwanted junk from ever reaching your search results.

As a user, you also have the ability to add sites that you don’t see in the search results—don’t worry; someone at Unamoo will personally review every site that’s added to make sure it meets Unamoo standards.

This search model leaves the user with a safe, enjoyable experience without removing any relevant content. As the user you can forget about phishing sites, malware and adult content—all you’ll have to worry about is what to search for next.

You don’t get that kind of peace with other search engines.

As a new site, Unamoo has the potential to become anything you, the user, want it to be. That’s the beauty of a search engine that’s powered by you and for you.

Unamoo is one of best search engine on net like google and msn live search .

Alternatives to drugs

Alternatives to drugs

'Advice for parents'? Who needs it? But author Mike Scantlebury is reassuring when it comes to thinking about the lessons that wise elders are sharing with the young, like 'Study hard' and 'Work for tomorrow'. It may not be fashionable but the alternative 'philosophy' is based on a lie, says Mike, exposing the sham justifications that allow young people to pollute their bodies, crash their minds, and hock their future.

Illegal drugs are sold with a lie – or maybe a half-truth. The seller says, 'Take this and you'll feel good'. That's partly true, and that can be a real problem for parents. The fact is that most banned drugs can give a pleasurable high. Think of the film 'Train-spotting'. Doesn't one of the characters, talking about heroin, say, 'Think about an orgasm, then multiply it by a thousand'? If that's true, then any young person, faced with a choice about whether to try the new experience, is going to be disappointed in any advisor or care-giver who has said, 'Don't take drugs, they're bad for you'. Sure, that may be true too, but if the one giving the advice didn't mention the 'thousand orgasms' factor – as they probably won't – then the experimenter is going to feel fooled and short-changed. Hey, this is great, they are thinking. How is it that people try and stop me doing it?

The answer is simple. The thrill is great – today. Tomorrow, it's different.

The half-truth, the one that drug dealers skate over, is that okay, you're going to feel good today, but the same thing that gave you pleasure is going to make you feel terrible tomorrow. And that's a fact, whether it's alcohol or skunk, pills or coke, the good feelings are not just going to fade. They're going to lead you into a spiral that puts you way below however bad you felt when you first decided that a high might be a good idea. That's the future, and it's never advertised.

If some kid is feeling bad – maybe because his girl left him, or he can't get a proper job, or he's living in the projects – then a simple question like, 'Don't you want to feel better?' might seem to have only one reply. Sure, he wants to feel good. Give him the drugs and left him feel the thrill, leaving the ugly present behind.

Of course, the other question, the one unsaid, is also true. If you asked the same customer, 'Do you want to feel worse than you do today?', the person would probably say 'No'. But the fact is, that's what's going to happen. They will feel worse than they do now, but that's tomorrow. The Devil's Bargain, when it comes to drugs, is that at first you feel great, and all your troubles are behind you, but you have to pay a price. Not just the money you don't really have, (which you have to hand over to get the stuff), but also the awful way you're going to feel the next day.

Because all illegal drugs have that problem. Alcohol has it too, it's called a hangover. But illegal drugs are off the market for a reason, and one part of that reason is the terrible feelings that withdrawal is going to give you. Every time. Some people who enjoy drinking say they 'never get hangovers' and maybe that's true. But everybody gets withdrawal symptoms, that's why illegal drugs are so profitable. The man on the street corner knows that the punters who he sent off laughing yesterday are going to come crawling back to him tomorrow.

The other issue, when tomorrow finally comes, is that you really have lost all control of your life. Sure, it might have seemed that way in the first place, if you're living in poverty, in a high-crime area, with no real friends and only the threat of local gangs to keep you company. But once the drugs are in your system, then they rule. Everything you do from that point on is about feeding the habit.

It's not you, it's the chemicals in your system. Any 'free will' which you might have imagined you once enjoyed is now gone. You are a slave to the yearnings in your bloodstream. Life is not yours anymore. You are merely a servant to your chemical need.

There is an alternative, and strangely, it's been around for several hundred years. It's what we sometimes call the Protestant Work Ethic, or, usually derogatorily, what people in England sneer at as 'Middle Class values'. Basically what it says is that you might have to sacrifice today in order to get a reward tomorrow. Whether it's studying in school, (for the prospect of qualifications that lead to future earnings), or whether it's starting in a job at the bottom and working your way up, it's a way of looking at life that says there may be hurdles to overcome before you get to the sunny plain.

There may be hills you have to climb before you actually can sit on top of the mountain. Whichever way you put it, it's all about 'jam tomorrow'. It's the complete reverse of the 'drug culture'. The druggie says 'I'm going to have pleasure today, I don't want to wait'. Fair enough, but that's only part of the story. The lie they tell is in leaving the other half out. 'I want pleasure now', they say, but they need to add, 'and I'm going to suffer for it tomorrow'. Thrills today, pain tomorrow. The middle classes say, 'Pain today, satisfaction tomorrow'. They are opposite sides of the same coin.

Which works? The answer to that question, painful as it may be to parents, is that they both do, after a fashion. The drug culture leads to hedonism and sneers at the kind of self-sacrifice the middle classes make, both for themselves and their children. The other truth, which is uncomfortable for the drug dealers, is that those 'respectable' people are right. They get the cars, the good jobs and the nice houses, by waiting.

The people who can't wait, can't plan, can't organise themselves today for a better tomorrow, are going to have fun today and feel completely justified in the thrill-seeking they pursue. Tomorrow, when they're lonely, depressed, broke again, desperate for another fix, they are going to be so pre-occupied that they won't have time to justify their earlier choice.

In England we always seem to have exams on sunny days. Some kids are locked in their rooms, pounding the books, studying hard, and dreaming about a career. Ten years later they're enjoying the affluence they've earned. Some other kids, elsewhere, have given up on exams and are out in the sunshine throwing balls around. They're enjoying themselves. Ten years later they're wondering where their dreams went, and how they allowed them to get drowned in a sea of booze and expensive, costly chemicals.

Falling for Niagara the International Marathon

Falling for Niagara: the International Marathon

For most people, Niagara Falls is known as a thunderous wonder of the world where millions of gallons of water cascade into the deep pool which sits on the border of Canada and the USA. The waterfall is one of the biggest natural attractions in the world, drawing approximately 20 million visitors every year, but for athletes, Niagara is much more than 168,000 square meters of water pouring over the face of the falls every minute.

Every year the town hosts the renowned Niagara Falls International Marathon. The 26 mile course begins by the Albright-Knox Gallery in Buffalo N.Y, travelling along the majestic parkways of Buffalo and then crossing the Peace Bridge into the historic town of Fort Erie, Ontario. Runners then follow the route alongside the beautiful Niagara River Parkway before crossing the finish line at the Niagara Falls themselves.

The Niagara Falls International Marathon is unique in that it's the only marathon that starts in one country and finishes in another. The course is also fairly flat and therefore fast and has hosted two USA men's Olympic trials (in 1980 and 1984) and also the World Veteran's Games marathon in 1995.

Race supporters will find plenty to do aside from cheering; to get up close and personal with the falls themselves, take a boat trip on the Maid of the Mist which brings tourists very close to the pounding waters. For those that prefer their water a little warmer, the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark offers flumes, hot springs, a plunge pool and tidal wave pool, an arcade, beach club and a Planet Hollywood restaurant.

For those who'd prefer to stay dry, the Niagara Vintage Wine Tour offers an insight into the Niagara wine region, deemed one of the best wineries in Canada and famous for its brand of "ice wine". Here a variety of tours are on offer, ranging from the three hour "Espersso" tour, to the evening "Wine and Dine tour".

Runners and supporters of the marathon can find a wide range of hotels in Niagara and the surrounding area, though it is advised that bookings are made well in advance of the event, as accommodation does fill up fast, with over 4000 runners from over 30 countries all descending on Niagara for the race.

Hundreds of volunteers also line the course to provide runners with liquid refreshment, and washroom and medical units are stationed along the route to assist anyone in need. In running circles the route is considered one of the easiest and most enjoyable marathons in North America and is a particularly good marathon for those attempting their first ever race.

Small Business Payroll Solution

Small Business Payroll Solution

Payroll is perhaps one of the most confusing and time consuming things about having employees who work for your business. Keeping up on all of the rules and regulations can be a full-time job. For this reason, many small business payroll solutions are being outsourced.

If you were to gather a room full of small to medium sized business owners and ask them what task they least like and understand, payroll would be at the top of the list for almost everyone in the room.

Because most business owners are not accountants and were not math majors in college, the responsibility to pay your employees while being compliant with government regulations is generally confusing and cumbersome. All of the current state and federal regulations can give you a real headache.

Thankfully, for small to medium sized businesses, there are services that offer outsourced small business payroll solutions. Businesses can choose to outsource just their payroll accounting, and payroll processing, to firms who specialize only in this field.

Payroll service companies can easily handle small business payroll tasks with ease and accuracy, allowing small and medium sized business owners to better utilize their administrative time growing their businesses and making more sales.

Payroll accounting is one area where you, as a small business owner, can really benefit from the outsourcing trends of today. Payroll processing, through outsourcing, insures that the job is done correctly with all of the latest rules and regulations taken into account.

Payroll accounting companies devote their time and care to keeping up to date on all of the latest requirements. Because this is their area of expertise performed daily, they do it very well.

While many of us think of payroll as simply a paycheck, there is so much more to the task. Payroll accounting includes: payroll checks, direct deposit, debit cards, federal and state withholdings, tax liability registers, check registers, unemployment taxes, tax forms, and so much more.

By outsourcing this responsibility, you can free up your time and still stay on top of all of your reporting and filing deadlines. The payroll service company will keep you apprised of everything you need to know and make sure that you stay in compliance. That is what you pay them to do for you.

In the online age, no matter your location, from New Orleans, Louisiana, to Juneau, Alaska, an experienced small business payroll service company can serve you wherever they are based.

Another wonderful benefit to contracting this job out is that you can have a bookkeeper to process your accounts payable and accounts receivable, while at the same time they do not have to have the specialized knowledge required to process and file your payroll.

This means your bookkeeper can be paid substantially less, and this is an efficient savings for your bottom line. Payroll service companies charge very reasonable rates and are well worth you considering.

No matter what industry you are in, if you have employees then you have a need for payroll to be processed. By attempting to do your own in-house you might find that your bookkeeping staff will be expensive and still will miss something that they were simply not aware of.

By outsourcing your payroll services you can insure that the job is done correctly and in a timely manner. Your payroll accounting company will insure that you meet all guidelines and timelines as well.

Is Online Poker illegal in the US? What?s really going on?

Is Online Poker illegal in the US? What?s really going on?

There are some startling decisions about how online poker functions about to develop. The US law that was passed last summer is under scrutiny again. Due to the overwhelming response of poker players wanting to repeal the law, a court hearing could take place as soon as September 26th, 2007.

A U.S. online poker player has never been prosecuted for playing online poker. There are several online poker room empires that still take wagers from US bettors. Those rooms are Full tilt Poker, Poker Stars, Ultimate bet, and Bodog. The funny thing is that these poker rooms have endorsed players that you still see all over the television. Like, Jamie Gold, Joe Hachem, Chris Moneymaker, Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer, and many more. These online poker companies are private which allows them to avoid much scrutiny in the public eye.

It's amazing. I am playing poker on Bodog right now as I am writing this article. I used my ATM visa debit card to make a deposit on Bodog. The transaction was instantly approved by my US Bank. The bank I use is called U.S. Bank.

In essence, the UIGEA poker ban passed on October 13th, 2007 has had a very small impact on US poker players. Ironically, the US online poker market has been consolidated into the hands of a few wealthy people and companies. The online poker rooms still exist and the ones like Poker stars that still take US players have grown by several hundred percent or more overnight.

There appears to be no end in sight to US poker. Online poker is a $6 billion dollar a year industry, and over 50% is from outside the US. There is no Federal law in place in regards to a US citizen playing poker online for real money. There are 11 states whom have laws against it, so you should check the laws in your jurisdiction before ever making a wager of any kind online.

Ironically, it is also possible for a US citizen to own part or all of a online poker room providing the company isn't based in the US and that the company does not take wagers from US players. There are countless opportunities to get a piece of this market from any citizenship legally.

The much anticipated UIGEA court hearing to repeal the US law has been pushed up to September 26th 2007. iMEGA is filing suit against the US government. The defendants are the U.S. FTC, Federal Reserve Board (who knew they were privatley owned) and Department of Justice have agrred to the date change. The defendants asked for more time to get prepared.

Time will only tell as it appears the courts' decision and ruling could go either way.

Mortgage Advice

Mortgage Advice

Finding independent mortgage advice is not as hard as it sounds. It is very important though if you want to make the right decision about which mortgage is the best one for you.

There are plenty of information about mortgages in the public domain on websites, in magazines and tabulated over and over again in mortgage comparison tables. We believe that because there are so many variables within the minefield that is mortgages, that seeking mortgage advice is essential. In fact, we even recommend you speak to independent mortgage advisors or brokers who have access to the whole UK mortgages market because otherwise you might not get advice covering all mortgages available to you.

This is even more important if you are trying to get onto the first rung of the property ladder and are a first time buyer. With the property market being so tough in the UK, there are more and more first time buyer mortgages on the market now and good mortgage advice for your first home is essential.

Since 2004 the giving of personal financial and mortgage advice in the UK has been governed by the Financial Services Authority. Companies or individuals offering personal financial or mortgage advice must comply with the Financial Services Act or they are breaking the law. Many companies offer consultations on an ‘information only’ basis and you would need to formally agree to having requested to be advised on financial matters. Adherence to the rules of the Financial Services Act is called ‘compliance’.

Mortgage advice can be sought from a number of sources:

• A tied mortgage adviser: These work – and will therefore recommend products – on behalf of just one lender.

• A multi-tied adviser: These will recommend products from a limited range of lenders.

• An Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) or Independent Mortgage Advisor: These will recommend products from the whole market.

You are perfectly entitled to ask on what basis your advisor is operating.

Be warned though, that if you go to see an Independent Mortgage Advisor, they will be independent on mortgages but perhaps not insurance – and most homebuyers take buildings insurance alongside their mortgage.

By researching and reading it is relatively easy to glean a certain amount of useful information but by seeking personal mortgage advice from a mortgage advisor, you will be gaining the expertise of someone who knows all about all the different first time buyer mortgages on the market, what special deals are on offer, the peculiarities of the one lender versus another, what the latest mortgage releases are and of course they will always take your personal plans and circumstances into consideration.

As well as verifying who you are, you will be required to provide evidence of major income (your salary) and your major out-goings like car-loans, student loans etc. If you have loans or debts, it does not mean that you cannot apply for a mortgage.

Mortgage advice can be given in a number of different ways. It can be given by phone, email or in person - different advisors work in different ways. These days professionals are pretty flexible. In order to give you proper mortgage advice, mortgage advisors will need to a great deal of information about your personal finances. They want to determine that you can and will be able to make the mortgage payments. The last thing they want is to repossess your property if you fail to be able to make the mortgage payments. They will ask your permission before they give financial or mortgage advice. You will probably need to sign an agreement form saying that you agree to being given mortgage advices as opposed to just mortgage information.

When the mortgage advisor or mortgage brokers has taken all the information from you about what you want and your finances, you might, after agreeing which mortgage and which mortgage lender is appropriate to you, make a mortgage application.

The selected mortgage lender will scrutinise your form and carry outs some checks of their own

Some advisors gain their income form commission they earn from selling insurance policies and mortgages whilst others charge for giving mortgage advice. You are perfectly entitled to ask about what charges will be applicable in your instance.

Don’t be intimidated by mortgage advisors. Though they have trained for a considerable time to be able to offer mortgage and financial advice, they are human, just like the rest of us.
